A Note From the Queen Merry Christmas Subscriber, and a Happy New Year Oh MY Gosh! It's two weeks and three days until Christmas! When my son got home from the Navy, he informed me that he was engaged. Can you believe it?! My life changed right before my eyes. I'm going to have a daughter-in-law, another family member to be brought into the circle. I met her a couple of times and I'm most happy to say that I like her very much. They are planning to marry in the Fall of 2006. Tye and I are coming along nicely with our communication course. One of the things I read had an impact on me. The more we can communicate in our lives, our lives will become richer, fuller and satisfying. I pondered this statement and realized how true it is. I met this woman that came to see me for a treatment. We got talking and I found out that her parents escaped from Romania before she was born. Now they can go back and help their people since the communism regime fell. They do this by sending clothes, food, furniture, and building supplies back to Romania. Twice a year, her family rents a big cargo container and fills it with donated items and sends it. There they distribute it around to the needy. I was so touched by her story because this is one of my goals is to create a community of like minded sisters that want to support other sisters in need. I wanted to share this opportunity with you to help. Feature Article Proof Positive That You Must Throw Away Your Synthetic Vitamins According to Science Magazine, animals on synthetic vitamins dropped dead long before animals who did not receive synthetic vitamins. The Vitamins In Medicine warns against doses in excess of 10 mg of vitamin B1, because they were not metabolized. and were excreted unchanged in the urine. The American Academy of Applied Nutrition found that animals fed enriched bread lived 10% shorter lives than those fed un-enriched bread. The New England Journal of Medicine cited that babies of women who consumed 10,000 I.U of vitamin A from supplements had a 240% increase in birth defects. The New England Journal of Medicine showed that men taking beta-carotene supplements had an 18% higher incidence of lung cancer, more heart attacks, and an 8% higher overall death rate. These same men, who were taking vitamin E supplements, suffered more strokes due to bleeding in the brain. A four year study at Dartmouth showed no protection from colon cancer when taking synthetic anti-oxidant vitamins. New England Journal of Medicine reports that elderly people taking a synthetic multi-vitamins did not ease their symptoms of muscle weakness and physical tiredness. British Journal of Chemistry and Physiology reports that ascorbic acid (vitamin C) injections did not improve intestinal disease. A study at the University of California at Berkeley noted that administration of synthetic vitamins to dogs caused a worse state of health than pure starvation. Journal of Nutrition noted that sterility occurred in rats given synthetic B1 vitamins. It is also known to cause hyperthyroidism according to the Journal of the American Medical Association. One of the most perilous deceptions is the passing off on a gullible public, phony, synthetic vitamins and preaching THAT THE BODY DOES NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. At the very best, synthetic vitamins can function in the body as a DRUG OR PHARMACEUTICAL AGENT; certainly not as a natural nutrient. Real vitamins must come from food. I was born and raised in California, along with my parents, John and Alexandra, who have been conducting Missionary Outreach trips to Romania numerous times each year since 1990. After my parents escaped from Romania in 1978, their hearts desire was to give back to the Romanian people, but they were not allowed to return to Romania until the communism regime fell. Then in 1990, after the revolution. my parents founded a non-profit organization, John Militaru Ministries. Southern Romania is known to be the poorest and most devastated area in Romania. Gypsy families, with many children, are known to settle in this part of the country.One can really see the affects of communism in this area. During these trips, the ministry personally distributes food and clothing to poor families in the isolated villages and towns of Southern Romania. They give toys to children in orphanages and schools especially during the holidays. The activity grew so much that in 1998 they expanded their organization and built a Relief Center in Romania. Numerous times each year food, clothing, toys, construction materials and many other relief supplies are shipped in containers and later distributed by hand at this center. These materials are donated or purchased by volunteers and packed in boxes to ship out. This Christmas, my family and I are collecting funds to put together Christmas baskets for children in Romania. These baskets will contain school materials, teddy bears, candy, and toys. The ministry will be giving out 500 baskets, and each basket will cost only $2 to put together. Many children do not receive anything for Christmas and these baskets will bring much joy to the children and their parents during the Holiday Season. Along with this Christmas project, the ministry is working on sending another container this winter. They are currently collecting canned foods, dry goods, gently used clothing, and various other relief supplies. My family and I will personally come and collect any items that anyone would like to donate for this project.
