Calcium Deficiency
Here's the whole story
Running a 26.2 Mile Marathon
Melanie, she is doing it and needs our support
A Note From the Queen
Dear Subscriber;
Tye and I took our final, it was grueling! We had a 1.5 hour written test, then the functional evaluation hands on test. We did it! We both passed with flying colors. Now we are ready to start working with you.
With the functional testing, we're able to touch points on your body to find out what is hot, then use neuro-linguinal testing, under your tongue, to test against your hot spot. For example: let's say your adrenals are showing up hot, we then test with a adrenal support and your hot spot should now get cooler, this means it worked.
When you come in to see us, we will first thoroughly go through all your spots to test you. These spots include but are not limited to: digestions spots, such as your stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, large intestine, and. endocrine spots, such as kidney, adrenals, and thyroid. We're also able to check your mineral balance, to see what minerals you're low in and your fatty acid balance, finding out what fatty acid is right for you.
Price:
1 1/2 hr. initial history interview, functional and neuro-linguinal testing. $150
Additional visits in 30 to 90 days one hour visit $75

A Note From Melanie
Dear Subscriber:
I am raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I have joined a wonderful program called, "Team in Training," which will help me physically and mentally prepare to run the 26.2 mile marathon. Yes that's right 26.2 miles
This will be my first full marathon. I am inviting you to support me by contributing to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I am raising $2,300. This is a taxable donation and you can donate in two ways. You can make a check payable to: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and mail it to me, Melanie Madsen at 2820 "T" Street Sacramento, Ca 95816, or drop off the donation at Fountain of Health.
The second way to donate is by visiting my personal donation web page provided by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Visit http://www.active.com/donate/tntsac/tntsacmmadsen and place your donation on line. Any amount will help, and I deeply appreciate your help for this worthy cause. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Feature Article
Calcium Deficiency
This is the whole story
I was watching a TV commercial message informing us that calcium helps with PMS. Well that's true, but not the whole story. We have enough calcium in our diets, what we need is the co-factors that cause us to absorb and use calcium.
The co-factors are:
Digestion
Fatty Acids
Vitamin D
Other Minerals
Systemic Ph
Hormones
Digestion
We cannot synthesize minerals, we must ingest them. Calcium is only absorbed in an acid environment and requires HCL (hydrochloric acid.) Most people need to supplement with HCL because they are not relaxed when eating.
Fatty Acid
Fatty acids are necessary for the transport of calcium across the cell membrane in the cells. FAs also help to increase the calcium levels in tissues. This is why you need some good fat with each meal for good calcium absorption.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D works with the pituitary to increase the level of calcium in blood serum. This happens in the gastrointestinal tract. Vitamin D also pulls calcium from the bones and tissues and decreases calcium loss in the urine and feces. Side note: Vitamin D is becoming a deficiency especially in Black Americans. We need at least 20 minutes, lying naked, (kidding) in the sun. Using sunscreen also blocks the rays necessary for Vitamin D production. Use a sunscreen for extended periods in the sun.
Other Minerals
Calcium must be in balance with other macro-minerals such as, potassium and magnesium, and micro-minerals such as:, manganese, boron, copper, and zinc. Out of 103 known minerals. 18 are essential for good health. This is why it is so important to avoid processed food; all the minerals are taken out. Eat organic, the soil has the minerals in it to grow the plant and feed us.
Systemic Ph
Bone buffers the calcium level of the blood ,so when you drink or eat too much acid forming foods, such as soda's and processed foods, the body breaks down bone to release calcium, which buffers the acid and makes your blood more alkaline.
Our bones play a key role in our body's calcium homeostasis. 99% of our body's calcium is stored in the bone. Calcium is only made available for other tissues when bone is broken down during remodeling. Remodeling is the body continually destroying old bone tissue and creating new bone tissue.
Hormones
Hormones are the body's messengers that tell the body to break down bones or build them. They control mineral levels in the body. Estrogen inhibits bone reabsorption, while progesterone promotes bond building. Testosterone is a precursor to estrogen and progesterone. Hormones also need Essential Fatty Acids. Essential meaning Fatty Acids that our body does not synthesize, we have to ingest them. These Fatty Acids are found in flax seed, borage oil, evening primrose and fish oil.

The Health Queen and Girlfriends Recommend
Proper Digestion
Is a must for good health
Take your time and eat slowly, digestion starts in the brain. Digestion is a parasympathetic state if being, meaning in order to digest your food correctly you must be in this state.
Being in this state is being in a relaxed state. Taking several deep breaths, thinking about the food your going to eat, this is what starts the saliva glands and the hormones telling the brain to release HCl to digest your food.
