"People Getting Better"
A Note From the Queen
Dear Subscriber,
Are you staying cool? I love the change of seasons, and I love air
conditioning. What would we do without technology?
I'm now writing a monthly article in the Health and Fitness magazine. Read
my article this month about water and salt. You may think salt is bad, it's
not. The right salt is good
*****I have someone I would like you to meet. Her name is Erika. I am so
excited to have someone so qualified and that fits together with us like
mash potatoes and gravy.
I have been watching her work on clients and she is like poetry in motion.
She knows skin like the back of her hand. I am very impressed with her
knowledge and warm demeanor.
She did an epidermal leveling treatment on my sister. It is a treatment
that is more precise and effective than microdermabrassion. My sister's
skin looked hydrated and alive, she's hooked!
I would like you to read Erika's Bio in the Tidbits from the staff. She is
also teaching a class, "Night of Skinformation" which you will
leave very informed about your skin. Also, Erika wanted me to pre-educate
you for her class information in the feature article, so you can be pre-informed,
before the class about your skin.
I'm so excited! This is just what I have envisioned for the future of
Fountain of Health. Education with classes. Come join us.
Tidbits >From The Staff
Erika Eager has been practicing Aesthetics since 2001. Over the scope of
the past five years, she has continued her education in advanced medical
aesthetic procedures, and nutrition. She is a certified Medical
Aesthetician, and a Holistic Health Practitioner, specializing in overall
wellness of the internal and external body. The merging of skin care,
nutrition and a balanced lifestyle are the basis from which she has drawn
much of her success.

MEET ERIKA,
For three years she successfully owned her own skin care clinic,
Enchantee', where the interest of moving from a therapeutic based facial
service, to a more clinical, result orientated treatment practice
developed. Repairing the skin of common ailments, like Acne and
Hyper-pigmentation, became her focus, and thus she continued her education
with a number of different institutes and organizations. She is a CosMedix
certified Medical Aesthetician, expert in Advanced Chemical Peeling and
Epi-Dermal Leveling. Additionally, she graduated from the Institute of Integrative
Nutrition, learning about advanced skills in
nutritional evaluation and counseling.
For the past year and a half she has worked as the New York City Account
Executive for CosMedix, where she managed the territory and educated on
chorally correct skin care methods and ingredients. From there, she became
the American educator for the American Institute of Medical Aesthetics in London. She then
acted as the Account Executive for CosMedix and Medical Aesthetician and
Nutritional Consultant at Medico-Beauty, where she performed skin
assessment with nutritional analysis and lifestyle recommendations.

Skin Savors:
The three essentials for
healthy skin
By: Erika Reagor
As a medical aesthetician and skin educator, I am often asked what
treatments and products are truly effective for achieving healthy skin.
There are obviously many different products and innovative treatments to
choose from these days, so it is no wonder that one would be confused.
Nevertheless, sorting out the ineffective from the effective has become an
absolute passion of mine. Attaining results are of utmost importance. There
is no point in investing money in a product or series of treatments that is
not going to do the job. Below, you will find three simple ways to attain
and maintain beautiful, healthy skin.
The three essential components for healthy skin consist of::
repairing past skin damage: stimulating new skin cell growth: and
protecting the skin from the sun.
1. Beginning with repair, everyone is aware of the powerful and healing
potential of anti-oxidants. We are told to eat them everyday as a
preventative measure; accordingly applying them topically everyday is just
as essential for skin repair. Using a potent anti-oxidant skin complex is
equivalent to that of taking a daily whole foods multi-vitamin. A daily
dose is needed for cell protection and restoration.
2. Next, stimulating the skin to increase its' cell turnover cycle, is
literally the only way to attain new ski, this is the fountain of youth in
regard to collagen and elastin production. Vitamin A, and more specifically
L-retinal A, is nearly the only ingredient that regenerates new healthy
skin cells. It tightens and firms, while promoting a healthy glow.
3. Lastly, using sun protection everyday is imperative. The sun's UV rays
are present 365 days a year, rain or shine. Don't be fooled into thinking
that just because you are not sun bathing, that the sun will not find you.
Sun damage is the leading cause of premature aging. For preventative care,
it is recommended to use a sun block that contains titanium dioxide and/or
zinc oxide everyday.
It is important to realize that at the core of every skin condition is
inflammation. It is only by using natural ingredients and non-invasive
methods that skin can be brought back into balance. Repair, stimulate, and
protect are the groundwork of skin wellness. It's simple; by gently
motivating the skin to restore itself back to health, inflammation is
avoided and results are quickly delivered.

Recipes For Your Health
Skin Thirsty Smoothie
from Erika Reagor
This smoothie contains a perfect blend of anti-oxidant rich berries, healthy
fats, essential fatty acids, fiber, probiotics and immune supportive genes.
Each ingredient works together to promote a beautiful, body inside and out.
Additionally, the life force of this smoothie will keep you satisfied and
active for hours to come.
1 2 cups frozen berries
2 1 small banana
3 1 ½ cups almond milk (*fresh or boxed)
4 1 cup of non fat yogurt
5 2 T Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
6 2 T Ground Flax seeds
7 1 scoop super greens formula (*optional)
Blend ingredients together for two to three minutes and enjoy!!
* Fresh almond milk can be made by soaking 1-2 cups almonds for 12-24
hours. Pour off liquid and place almonds in blender with filtered water and
desired sweetener. (My favorite is Agave nectar. It has no affect on blood
sugar levels and is low in calories.) Blend thoroughly and put mixture
through sieve. Best if used within 2-3 days.
* A super greens formula is an excellent way to receive vitamins, minerals,
anti-oxidants and much more from a whole food source. It supports digestion,
detoxification and a strong immune system. Super greens can be found at Fountain of Health
