"Getting People Better"
A Note From the Queen
Dear Subscriber,
Tye and I just got back from the Las Vegas International Skin and Body Show this last weekend. I connected with some wonderful people, whom I had a nice affinity with, because their goal was as mind, "getting people better." I was able to find an organic face masque line. I also learned about new skin and body treatments to nurture, pamper and love up our clients even more.
Everything is coming together nicely. I have an awesome staff who is as excited as I am to learn about how to serve our clients better and better.

It was fun and sad as we said our good-byes to Melanie.

Melanie reading a card, Angela is eager to see what is says. Mara is enjoying the moment.

Courtney and Cory are wondering what the card said too.

It was an emotional card, full of love and laughter

Courtney is having fun!

Why You Should Increase Your Water Intake
Did you know that you can increase good health by making sure that you get enough water? Yes, plain water that has been purified in some way, is an excellent way to benefit your health. The water most of us get from the tap is full of chemicals that are bad for our health. Do not drink tap water unless you have your own well, which you know is not contaminated.
Water is essential for a healthy body. Water regulates body temperature, lubricates joints, and keeps skin youthful and muscles strong.
Water is present in every cell and tissue and involved in so many biological functions - digestion, absorption, circulation and excretion. It helps us with keeping our hormones balanced and our brain chemistry relies on water for proper balance. Water gives us energy and strengthens the immune system.
Most people do not drink enough water and are semi-dehydrated. Your body cannot work at optimum level without the water it needs.
What happens when you don't drink enough water?
I won't go into all the details, but I do want to mention a few things here. All the things mentioned above that water helps keep in balance and lubricated are affected when you don't drink enough water. You will not feel as well as you possibly could, your body does not have what it needs for good health and so your health declines.
Here is one example of what I mean: When you do not get enough water throughout the day, your body just does not have the needed fluid. Your body will sometimes try to pull it from where it can, and distribute it to the places that need hydration the most. One place that water is pulled from is your digestive system. When you do not drink enough water it leads to constipation.
As we all know, constipation is not a good thing. Besides the uncomfortable sick feeling, there are other things going on. Transit time slows down and some of the toxins and poisons dumped into the digestive system begin to recirculate.
As these toxins build up, they store in your tissues causing ill health. Kidneys separate water from the waste in the blood - so there is a strain put on them when toxicity levels increase. Along with that, the Liver has quite a bit more to do trying to detoxify the system as a whole.
Water is the most important thing you can drink for good health. With this being the case, I suggest that you drink one quart of water for every 50 pounds of weight. So if you weigh 150 pounds, you would need to drink 3 quarts of water.
I also find it best if a person will actually measure the needed water into a container each day. Otherwise most people lose track of how much they did drink. Without this measurement, they usually do not drink enough water for the day.
Why not put this information to use today? No matter where your health is at this point, drinking the required amount of water will aid you in reaching better health and maintaining it.

Tips for remembering your water
Fill up a container of your required water for the day and have it on the counter, at your desk or in your car, reminding you to drink water. One of the big reasons we forget to drink is because we are usually in a sympathetic state, "stressed state," and we don't feel thirsty.
Another way to increase fluids is to drink raw vegetables juices, green tea and herbal teas. Teas are wonderful cold and with lemon, ginger or peppermint. You can also add a couple drops of essential oil of lemon or peppermint.

Recipes For Your Health
From Dawn
Some of the best veggies to help detoxify are the cruciferous veggies, like broccoli and cauliflower, which my family eats fairly constantly anyway; Green leafy veggies like parsley, kale, watercress, cilantro, chard, etc., are, powerful blood purifiers, so it's good to have the reminder to eat these more often; Citrus foods are cleansing and stimulating to the liver (the most overtaxed and under appreciated digestive organ); onions, garlic, and Daikon radish are sulfur-rich, which help the liver eliminate toxins from the body. The Daikon radish aids in the metabolism of fats and helps digestion.. Other good detox foods are artichokes, asparagus, beets, and celery.
I often make this salad when I want a refreshing dish, especially at this time of year, when greens are young and crisp. You can also use golden beets I just diced them and tossed them in. It's a terrific, crunchy salad, and takes 5 minutes or so to make:
Cleansing Green Spring Salad
4 to 6 servings
Use only organic veggies for maximum effect. You can vary it as you like by using some of the other cleansing food mentioned above.
* 4 to 6 ounces tender greens (baby greens, arugula, baby spinach, watercress, or a mixture)
* 1 cup green sprouts (I like sweet pea shoots)
* 1 Granny Smith (green) apple
* 1/2 medium Daikon radish, peeled and sliced
* 2 large stalks celery or bok choy, sliced
* 1/2 medium cucumber, unpeeled, cut in half lengthwise and sliced
* Flaxseed or olive oil and lemon juice to taste, or your favorite dressing
* 1/4 cup toasted pumpkin seeds, optional
* 2 to 3 medium cooked and peeled beets, preferably golden, optional
Combine in a salad bowl, toss, and serve.
