Are There Healthy Food Choices For Our Kids?
by Megan Zybzik, Just call me Zee
Detox & Weight Loss Expert Earlier this year, a not-for-profit public health group released a study highlighting kids' food choices at fast-food and restaurant chains. The results were less than amazing to look over. Parents have very few healthy choices for their kids. All the kids' meals at Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Sonic, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Chick-fil-A are too high in calories, says the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Examining the nutritional content of kids' meals at 13 major restaurant chains, the Center found 93% (of 1,474 total possible meal combinations) far exceed the recommended maximum of 430 calories. The National Institute of Medicine recommends that children should consume no more than 1290 calories in a day. How many calories are in these kids meals (click here) |
Male Fertility Epidemic
by Eve Mayer Nutritionist
Worldwide, the fertility of both men and women is declining -- but things seem to be worse for men! In 1960 a good sperm count for men was 120 million sperm per milliliter of seminal fluid. Anything lower than that and the man was considered to be marginally fertile. These days, things have changed so much that a man is considered fertile if he has only 20 million sperm per milliliter of ejaculate! WHAT HAPPENED? Keep Reading (click Here) |
Can Good Food Make us Happy?
by Tamara Hanscom, Colon Therapist
I finally bought a Vita-Mix!! I love it!! I've been making this yummy shake in the morning. I crave it each morning now. One of my favorit ingredients is Cacao nibs. According to David Wolfe, it's #1 in western food for magnesium. He says that magnesium is the number one mineral deficiency that we have. He says it's a great laxitive and great brain and heart food. Heart and magnesium go together! The #1 mineral in the heart is magnesium. It's #1 in antioxidents of any fruit/nut. Who knew!? 10 x's more than what blue berries have. 20 x's more than red wine. 30 x's more than grean tea. If you ever want inspiration to eat well, just search David Wolfe on U-tube, and you'll learn a lot! So, as I've been so excited about my Vita-Mix, I went to Dawn's house and we grinded up a great soup. Here's the easy recipe:
Butternut Squash Soup
2 cups water 1/2 cup pine nuts 1/4 white onion 1 tsp. cumin 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 cups butternut squash handful of chives sea salt to taste Blend water & pine nuts in blender. Add squash and chives. Put olive oil, onion, cumin & cinnamon in saucepan, warm for a minute to soften onions, then add to blender and blend all ingredients. Return to saucepan to warm for a minute, then add salt to taste. I created a soup today with whatever I had on hand. The only thing I had on hand was chives, and the only spices in my cabinet that haven't expired are cumin and cinnamon. The butternut squash was frozen, so when it defrosted it was soft. If you use fresh squash you may need to shred it first. This soup is so creamy and delicious you would never guess that it wasn't cooked. I think next time I will put some apple in it.

Success Story
I would love to take the opportunity to thank Fountain of Health.
I cannot remember when I felt so energized, so happy, so stress free.
After having tried several ways to loose weight and feel better, someone recommenced having colonics, I have to tell you I was skeptical, but said, "I give it a try." Walking in your building was just the beginning, the music, the front desk staff, the cleanliness of the toilet to name a few. I feel great! I sleep great, my family tells me I look great! I will never stop cleansing.
